Rootroute - Payment FAQ
Are there reduced price for advance payments ?
The billing cycle comes monthly by default.
RootRoute offers discounts for advance payments,
The billing cycles are:
- Monthly, the standard price.
- 3 months, 4% off the monthly fee.
- 6 months, 7% off the monthly fee.
- 12 months, 10% off the monthly fee.
Payments that are for more than one year, or for less than one month, are not accepted.
The discount can be applied to any account types.

For dedicated servers and other account types, this also applies, just ask billing@rootr.net.
When do I start getting billed ?
A week after you receive the account activation notice, your
bank statement will show a charge from "Root Route Corp.", and continues automatically every month, until you close the account.
Online banking services show a transaction's origin. If for any reason your account is not activated, you are not billed.
How do I close an account ?
Login your account, select "support", then "billing/accounting", and post a closure message.
What are the method of Payment available ?
- MasterCard, VISA card, American Express card. This is the prefered way.
- Paypal, only for certain services,
- Checks, given the limitations described below.
- Wire transfers, for dedicated servers.
- International money orders, and cash currencies in
CAD, USD, EUR, JPY, HKD, CHF, and Sterlings.
Those methods are possible via arrangements with our accounting department.
Some may have availability limitations.
Foreign currencies conversions are subject to bank limitations, but this is
ok. Where no bank is involved in the conversion, current rates as listed
on www.oanda.com are used, interbank rate.
How can I pay by check ?
- The minimum amount for check payment is USD 250.
- The check must be from a U.S. Bank, or from a bank in the HSBC group.
- A note should accompany it, mentioning the main account login name.

There are delays of at least 30 days associated with processing and clearing
checks. Remember also to email billing@rootr.net a quick note, just after
it is posted, so we know it's in postal transit.
How can I pay using paypal ?
- Email billing@rootr.net you would like to pay by paypal.
- Send the payment to paypal@rootr.net, but only after contacting billing.
Currency: U.S. Dollars. Category: 'Services'.
The email subject must be: account X where X is your main login name.
To change from paypal payment to card payment, email billing@rootr.net.
Accounting and billing issues
Accounting and billing issues are dealt with only by email to billing@rootr.net.
To keep a clear trail of deeds, Rootroute accounting dept does not entertain issues over phone or fax, unless exemption granted by Rootroute.
Rootroute support and sales however do handle over phone where necessary.
